My son always came in first or second in every race that we entered.

The rules to win are:
1. Weight is everything, and it needs to be in the back.
2. Drill a hole in the back that will fit a test tube.
3. Place mercury in the tube--when the car rolls down the track the weight will shift and put the car in overdrive.
4. The way the car looks does not matter. In fact the worse it looks, the more upset the other parents will get. This is good.
5. Do not put the axles or wheels on the car. This is very important: if you put the wheels on the car and then drop it, the holes will get out of round and you will lose. Also, don't mess with the wheels at all and do not sand anything.
6. Place all four wheels in a pill bottle with graphite. About two minutes before the race glue the axles and wheels on the car.

I would be happy to tell the lady who called during the February 1 show. By the way, you guys are great. I love your show, but please don't give advice on Pinewood Derby cars. Leave that to the real cheaters.
